During the course, there will
be six assignments that students need to hand in at the BEGINNING of
class. NO assignments will be accepted after the lecture has started.
The five best assignments count for 15% of the final grade for this
course. INSTRUCTIONS:
Print out the assignment, staple it
together in the top left corner and answer the questions in the
provided space. Write your name, student number and tutorial
section in the designated space on the front page. You can
print double-sided but only a single page per side.
Marks will be deducted if these instructions are
not followed! (I hate to be so picky about this but it is simply
unacceptable for the teaching assistants to deal with a mess similar to
previous semesters). Marked
assignments will be handed back in tutorials. Assignments that were not
picked up, can be found in the reception area of the Economics
Department (Buchanan Tower, 9th floor). Assignment
I (Sequential-Move Games)Assignment I Solutions A-I The game Thai 21 was
featured as an immunity challenge in
the popular reality TV show Survivor Thailand. The
two tribes are not particularly knowledgeable when it comes to backward
induction. Can you figure out how many mistakes the two teams make?
(The
sequence of flags picked by the two tribes is 2-2-2-1-1-1-1-2-3-2-3-1).
